Safety Considerations

Safety refers mostly to the general building/room design, for which a number of legal requirements might exist. So, for example, each room can be required to have two unblocked exits in case of fire or other calamity. During construction an emergency exit should be envisaged - a window with folding iron stairs outside, connected balconies, a ladder, rope, etc. that allow to reach the ground safely. Also, the choice of materials and furniture and other objects should ensure safe operation. So, the materials used should be inflammable and representing no potential danger to the guests (e.g., no sharp metal corners or easily detachable/breakable parts). Such devices as a gas heater should be of the appropriate level of quality and maintenance. Frequently, installation of one feature in the room leads to more safety requirements to be met: so, for instance, cooking facilities might require availability of fire blankets, etc. It is recommended that you check carefully specific legal requirements applicable to accommodations of your type in your own country, and especially the safety aspect.
