Qualification System for Accommodations

There is no general official classification scheme in force. Several parallel initiatives exist:

• The national federation ASETUR runs a private classification scheme based on the French “Epis” (1-5)
• Some regional governments and/or rural tourism associations have created their own classification systems (from two to five levels)
• The Spanish National System of Tourism Quality promotes the “Q”-label, based on external certification.
