The Hungarian Federation of Rural Tourism takes a lot of rural accommodations all over Hungary under its umbrella. The houses are with all conveniences, each of them has cooking possibility or the host provides board.
This federation is a national NGO, with 19 member organizations within the country based in each countie. The association is maintaining institutional and private memberships. They have active cooperation with the Association for Spanish Rural Tourism abroad, the Biokultura Association, the Association of Wine Tourism and the Association of Horse Tourism in Hungary. This association, founded in 1994, included 1200 members in 2001 (17% of all the rural accommodation). The comfort level of a given accommodation is signed with the number of "sunflowers" (up to 4).
Publication of a country-wide catalogue about the domestic rural accommodations takes place every year. Temporary web page on rural accommodations is http://web.axelero.hu/kiraly02. There is publication of information material consisting of nine booklets, which provides general information to both the hosts and guests. For example "Public Relations", "Advertising and hostelry", "Environmental protection", "Communication", "Feeding and serving", and "The qualifying and running the rural accommodations" along with applicable rules.
