Dual-Flush Toilets

Dual flush toilets, which allow a partial flush for liquid waste and reduce the amount of the water used, are getting more and more recognition by accommodation owners. Also, rainwater and snow-water might be used for flushing in the toilets.

EXAMPLE: In Hotel Virginia, Beach Elia, Greece after introduction of change-on-request policy the volume of laundry reduced by 44,5%: if in 1996 18,085 bath towels and bathrobes were changed and washed, in 1997 the number dropped to 10,202 - by the same number of overnight stays.
EXAMPLE: In camping and bungalow park De Papillon, Denekamp, Overijssel, the Netherlands 45,000 euro was saved on water, mainly due to payment of hot shower use per second by sepkey (key with chip), using rainwater and water from the swimming pool for toilets and washing machines, application of dual-flush system in toilets.
