Accommodation for people with pets is a growing market. More and more the pet is treated as a member of the family (especially dogs). Allowing pets in, you have a new target group.
If you made up your mind to host both tourists and their pets, you need to have adequate facilities for pets and, in your advertising brochure, specify what exactly types of animals you allow in. Be aware that visiting dogs or cats may experience the stay in a strange place as stressful, and may get aggressive or frightened. For these cases, you should make clear in writing that all damage caused by pets will be the responsibility of their masters. Also, the possibility that pets can hurt some people staying in your accommodation should not be overlooked. You need to take some measures to be sure the responsibility will not hit your hard, e.g., arrange a proper insurance.
Besides, some pets such as dogs can be very noisy and disturbing, especially at night. If your guests are a mix of animal-lovers and normal ones, you may run into serious problems. The opinion of your neighbours should be also taken into account.
Last, but not least: allowing pets may attract extra guests, but some people will avoid you, as many tourists(e.g., those allergic to animal fur) will not sleep in a room where pets have been. Anyway, allowing pets in your accommodation will definitely require extra cleaning to keep hygienic conditions in the accommodation.
