Social skills are very important when working in the recreation branch. In the tourist
business, it is daily practice to deal with both personnel and clients. Your social
skills will determine to a large extent, how well your enterprise works and if your
guests will return for a next visit or not. However, if your company has employees,
dealing with them is one of the most important areas in which good social skills
are necessary. This chapter deals with the hiring, evaluation and firing of employees.
Personnel is important to an entrepreneur and you have to be sure that you get the
right people with the qualifications you require. Almost every company needs personnel.
You can make a distinction between the qualitative and the quantitative needs of
a company in regard to personnel decisions.
